Mandatum Arvo Russia Value is a mutual fund, which assets are mainly invested in publicly traded equities and in equity-linked securities issued by Russian value companies. The fund's assets are also invested in countries of the former Soviet Union, such as Ukraine and Kazakhstan. Companies with low market value in comparison to the book value are defined as value companies. Value investing is based on thorough company analysis which aims at finding undervalued companies and avoiding equities whose valuation levels have appreciated too high. The fund is suitable for long-term investors that are looking for a value investment alternative with a higher expected return in the emerging markets of Russia and countries of the former Soviet Union. The general development of the equity markets in the area is reflected in the value of the fund, which may fluctuate strongly on short-term. Since a significant amount of the funds investments are made in small and medium sized companies, which liquidity is lower than in companies of higher market value, the liquidation of the fund units be can delayed in some situations. The fund is recommended only as a small part of a diversified investment portfolio because of higher risk level than in normal mutual funds. The recommended investment period is over five years. The RTS-2 Index is used as the funds benchmark index.
