VILNIUS. After raising its profit forecast for the year, DnB NORD Bankas, a member of the dynamic international financial group, plans to invest no less than LTL 15 million into modernization and expansion of its branch network and intends to create at least 100 new jobs to further improve customer service quality in 2007.

The rapidly improving operating efficiency DnB NORD Bankas’ investments into upgrading and development of its customer service network are estimated at about LTL 10 million this year.

This year, we have already became the most flexible and the fastest decision maker in Lithuania’s large corporate loan market, while the international capital markets journal Euromoney ranked DnB NORD Bankas as the country’s best debt house. Now our nearest goal is to maintain strong position in corporate and investment banking and to focus on service quality, culture and speed while offering individually tailored simple and efficient solutions to our retail customers and small and medium enterprises,” – the Chief Executive Officer of DnB NORD Bankas Werner Schilli said at a news conference to present the bank’s new model branch.

The new branch model of DnB NORD Bankas was developed in cooperation with consultants from Germany’s Wincor Nixdorf company, who in close contact with the bank professionals carried out a detailed research of the operations, customer flows and operations’ duration. Taking into consideration the recommendations, DnB NORD Bankas model branches will have cosy and clearly separated zones for the daily customer service and the self-service where customers can make various banking payments via Internet. Separate zones are designed for retail and corporate customers who take loans or are looking for a financial consultation. The bank also developed special area for VIP customers where personal bankers will offer them the highest quality consultancies. The queue control system has been set up for customer convenience. Flat screen monitors have also been installed to provide customers with all necessary information. The model branch has been fully set up in Vilnius and will be in place in Kaunas, Klaipėda and Panevėžys business centres next year.

“Thanks to growing business volume and increasing operating efficiency, the bank earned more profit in the first eight months of this year than in full year 2005 therefore creating a perfect opportunity to invest more into customer service quality and culture. Considering the result achieved, the management of DnB NORD Bankas raised this year’s net profit forecast up to LTL 55 million,” – Werner Schilli said.

Initially it was planned that the bank’s 2006 net profit will come in line with 2005 result when the bank’s audited net profit was LTL 43.04 million. DnB NORD Bankas that employs 1070 professionals has 80 customer service outlets in Lithuania. This is one of the largest customer service networks in the country.
