JSC Valmieras stikla šķiedra is the only company in the Baltic States and one of the few in Eastern Europe producing and processing fibre glass. It specialises in the production of glass-fibre yarn, "E" type; foundations; roving; technical fibre for heat, sound and electrical insulation; nettings and nets tape for reinforcement of plastering; unweaved materials for heat and sound insulation, and high silicon saturated fibre glass materials for application under high temperatures (1050 C). The main export markets include the European Union, Eastern Europe, the USA, Japan, South Africa and CIS countries. Only 2.6% of all output is distributed in Latvia, consisting mainly of nettings, non-woven materials and fabrics for technical insulation. |
